Urodzony w 1944 roku w Spytkowicach,  k.Oświęcimia.  Studiował malarstwo  i grafikę w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych
w Krakowie, 1961 -1968, i w Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts
w Paryżu, 1967.  Dyplom  uzyskał w 1968 roku. Obecnie jest profesorem w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie. Uprawia malarstwo, grafikę
i media elektroniczne.
Ponad 50 wystaw indywidualnych w kraju i za granicą. Udział w kilkuset wystawach zbiorowych, międzynarodowych, krajowych i zagranicznych. Liczne nagrody, zwłaszcza za twórczość graficzną na wystawach międzynarodowychi ogólnopolskich. 
W 2003 roku - Nagroda im. Witolda Wojtkiewicza  za wystawę malarstwa "Obiekty geometryczne - retrospekcja" w Starmach Gallery.
Prace w zbiorach muzealnych: Muzeum Narodowe w Warszawie, Krakowie; Muzea Okręgowe / Szczecin, Chełm, Lublin/; Victoria and Albert Museum; Albertina w Wiedniu: Portlant Art. Museum w Oregon; Muzeum w Bochum; Mondrian Museum w Amersfoort.
Jest wieloletnim członkiem ZPAP, oraz członkiem "Grupy Krakowskiej", wielokrotnym kuratorem oraz jurorem wystaw
i konkursów.

JAN PAMUŁA
 

    Born in 1944 in Spytkowice near Oświęcim. In 1961, he graduated from Stanisław Wyspiański Secondary School in Kęty. He studied painting and graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, 1961-1968, and in Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, 1967. He received a diploma in 1968 at the Atelier of Painting of professor Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa. At present, he works as a professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He is active in the field of painting, graphic art and electronic media.

He has had over 50 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He has taken part in several hundred collective, international exhibitions that were presented in Poland and abroad. He received numerous prizes on international and domestic exhibitions, in particular for his graphic artworks.
In 2003, he was awarded the annual prize of Witold Wojtkiewicz ZPAP in Krakow for the painting exhibition "Geometrical objects - a retrospection" in Starmach Gallery. His works of art can be found in museum collections of: National Museum in Warsaw, Krakow; Regional Museums / Szczecin, Chełm, Lublin/; Victoria and Albert Museum; Albertina in Vienna; Portland Art Museum in Oregon; Museum in Bochum; Mondrian Museum in Amersfoort. For many years, he has been a member of ZPAP and a member of "The Cracow Group". He has also acted several times as a custodian and member of jury during exhibitions and competitions.

LOGIC AND PHYSICS

Logic of the form is the essence and power. The surface structure, outwardness, are manifestations only.
The sense is hidden beneath the surface. The movements of forces under the surface cause earthquakes. At that moment, the whole accumulation of elements on the surface disappears, loses any of its significance, it vanishes: the weak, the vague, the non-uniform.
The maximum tension of visual forces is included in logical laws that extend to the actions on a mental level, those which are performed within our perceptual system.
The law of physics communicates in the same way as any other language.
The law of physics transposed onto the domain of art is the law of optics or geometry.
Belief in the law of physics, the physical language in an important factor that builds the new structure of the language of art.
There are some more complex language systems, yet their application is not of any particular use, as they are private languages in the majority of cases.
The basis, out of which true values emerge, is formed by all that is vivid, revealing, possessing the power of acting and reacting, and, above all, the power of building in a universal sense.
The connection between the logic of the form and the visual physicality is the basis of concrete art, and is at the same time the best expression of this genre of art.

Geboren 1944 in Spytkowice, in der Nähe von Oświęcim. 1961 absolvierte er die Stanisław-Wyspiański-Allgemeinbildende Oberschule Kęty. Er studierte Malerei und Graphik an Akademie der Bildenden Künste Krakau, 1961-1968, und an der Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts Paris, 1967. Das Diplom erhielt er im Atelier für Malerei von Prof. Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa. Derzeit ist er Professor an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste Krakau. Er betreibt Malerei, Graphik und elektronische Medien.

Er hatte über 50 individuelle Ausstellungen im Inland und Ausland. Er nahm an einigen hundert Sammelausstellungen, internationalen, inländischen und ausländischen Ausstellungen teil. Er gewann zahlreiche Preise, insbesondere für die graphischen Werke auf internationalen und allgemeinpolnischen Ausstellungen.
Im Jahre 2003 erhielt er den alljährlichen Witold-Wojtkiewicz-Preis des Verbandes Polnischer Bildender Künstler Krakau für die Malereiausstellung "Geometrische Objekte - Retrospektiven" in der Galerie "Starmach Gallery". Kunstwerke in folgenden musealen Sammlungen: Nationalmuseum Warschau, Nationalmuseum Krakau; Bezirksmuseen (Stettin, Chełm, Lublin), Victoria and Albert Museum; Albertina Wien; Portland Art Museum in Oregon; Museum Bochum; Mondrian Museum Amersfoort.
Er ist langjähriges Mitglied des Verbandes Polnischer Bildender Künstler, sowie Mitglied der "Krakauer Gruppe", mehrfacher Kurator und Preistrichter von Ausstellungen und Wettbewerben.

LOGIK UND PHYSIK.

Die Logik der Form ist die Essenz und die Kraft. Die Struktur der Oberfläche, das Äußere sind nur Symptome. Der Sinn ist unter der Oberfläche versteckt. Verschiebungen der Kräfte unter der Oberfläche verursachen ein Erdbeben. Jede Ansammlung von Elementen an der Oberfläche verschwindet dann, verliert jegliche Bedeutung, schwindet: schwach, fade, gestaltlos.
Die Maximale Spannung der visuellen Kräfte ist in den logischen Gesetzen enthalten, die bis zu den Aktivitäten auf der mentalen Ebene reichen, zu denjenigen Aktivitäten, die im Inneren unseres Perzeptionssystems stattfinden.
Ein physikalisches Gesetz kommuniziert genauso, wie jede andere Sprache.
Ein auf den Boden der Kunst übertragenes, physikalisches Gesetz ist ein Gesetz der Optik oder ein Gesetz der Geometrie.
Der Glauben an ein physikalisches Gesetz ist ein wichtiger, eine neue Struktur der Kunstsprache aufbauender Faktor.
Es existieren komplexere Sprachsysteme, sie sind jedoch nicht besonders brauchbar, weil es überwiegend private Sprachen sind.
Das, was lebendig, entdeckerisch ist, was die Kraft des Handelns und der Einwirkung hat - vor allem die Kraft des Aufbauens im universellen Sinne - ist eine Grundlage, auf der die wirklichen Werte wachsen.
Die Verbindung der Logik der Form und der visuellen Physikalität bilden eine Grundlage für die konkrete Kunst, und gleichzeitig sind sie der beste Ausdruck der Universalität dieser Kunst.
